Abstract

Any government can sustain only when it has a support and acceptance from the citizens of the country. Maintaining the Law and order and public services for the welfare of the country and its people is the objective of any government. In other words, it is called as governance and it extends too much larger boundaries. The globalization has directly hit the area of governance of developing countries like India which is one of biggest democracies. Therefore, it became important for Indian government to render excellent public services to the people of India. The thought and the process undergone many distillations and they appeared as various reports of different committees in last thirty years. This paper attempts to capture the concepts, thoughts , initiatives and lessons from each initiatives are published in the Eleventh report of Second Administrative Reforms Commission published by Government of India entitled “Promoting e- Governance the SMART Way Forward”.
